Just to be clear in starting to read convolute H, on the collector

Two things at the start of this section: 1. Of course we're not primarily concerned here with real collecting (or are we?), but with methodology, this must be a methodological chapter since the Arcades Project itself is so clearly a collection, the doing of a collector. This chapter begins and ends then in the why and how of compiling citations. 2. The epigraphs announce the spiritual and moral qualities of the objects in a collection, that is, materiality as possessed of "moral" value, a location in the "soul." These two things could guide a reading of this convolute (and see next blog post).
